Kid Scene

Kid Scene is for kids with Down syndrome, ages 4 through 7, and their siblings (in the same age group).  The kids participate in social activities one Saturday or Sunday per month.  The activities, dates and times vary depending upon the particular activity for that month.

Cost is normally free or no more than $5 per event/per person.  Detailed information for each activity/outing can be found in the newsletter, through the UPS for DownS e-group, or our online calendar.

These are not drop off events.  A parent or responsible adult must attend with the children.

Kid Scene events are intended to promote friendships and social opportunities amongst the kids with Down syndrome.

Can I help my Friend?

Yes! Play with and talk to people with Down syndrome. If they are having trouble playing a game, give them time and a little extra help or ask them what game they would like to play. Be clear in what you are saying. Find out what your friend likes to do. Just hang out together and see what happens. You are more alike than you are different.

Do people with Down syndrome grow up?

Yes. In adulthood, many people with Down syndrome have jobs, go to college, live independently, and support their communities. People with Down syndrome bring to their jobs enthusiasm, reliability, and dedication.
